Algae Growth Netherlands operates an algae production facility within an existing greenhouse in one of the world’s most advanced horticultural regions. By leveraging established greenhouse infrastructure, operations can commence efficiently with limited construction risk.
Algae cultivation takes place in a dedicated section of the greenhouse equipped with closed photobioreactor systems (PBRs), supported by integrated laboratory and technical facilities. The setup allows for a gradual increase in production activities within the same greenhouse environment, while maintaining full operational control and flexibility.
Microalgae are cultivated in a closed, fully controlled greenhouse environment where light, nutrients, CO₂ and water are precisely regulated to optimize growth and productivity. Key parameters are continuously monitored to ensure reproducibility and full traceability. Through continuous photosynthesis, CO₂ is converted into oxygen and valuable biomass. Efficient resource management and high water reuse support sustainable, year-round production of EPA-rich algae.
